Sringeri Tirth or Math is one of the four Major Peethas of India. It is located on the banks of River Tunga in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka state. Sringeri Tirth or Math was established by Adi Guru Shankaracharya in the eighth century for the Promotion and Protection of Vedas and Sanatan Dharma. Sringeri Tirth is a sacred and fruitful place for pilgrimage and attainment of Knowledge and Wisdom. This pilgrimage of Maa Sharada holds importance due to the embodiment of Mata Saraswati.
