Thousands of devotees come here to seek the blessings of Maa Pratyangira to alleviate their troubles due to enemies, financial issues, or the adverse effects of their Kundali. According to scriptures, after the killing of Hiranyakashipu, the anger of Lord Narasimha did not subside, and he became uncontrollable. Then Lord Shiva assumed the form of Sharabha to try to stop Narasimha. However, both fought for a long time without any result. At the request of all the Gods, Mother Durga took the form of Devi Pratyangira and subdued both with her fierce form and thunderous roar. This ended the fierce battle between them and averted the crisis of destruction from the universe. It is believed that thereafter, Maa Pratyangira remained present in this form forever for the protection of her Devotees and the Universe.
