Shaktipeeth Vishalakshi is a very ancient and famous Temple in Varanasi. According to Tantra Chudamani, the gem-studded earrings (Kundal) of Mata Sati fell in Varanasi. Thereafter, Maa Vishalakshi is worshipped as Shakti and Bhairav as Kaal Bhairav in Kashi. Mata Vishalakshi Temple is situated near Kashi Vishwanath Temple. A bed is also present in this Temple for Kashi Vishwanath as it is believed that Lord Vishwanath comes to take rest here. It is believed that by worshiping Goddess Vishalakshi, Peace of Mind, Happiness, Wealth and Prosperity are obtained. Devotees who participate in Maa Annaourna Puja & Offerings here never face any shortage of food in their house as Maa Vishalakshi is also considered as a divine form of Maa Annapurna.
