Prayagraj is called Tirtharaj. Because it is an ancient city where the three most sacred rivers of the world meet. Which is called Triveni Sangam. Triveni means the place where three rivers meet. India's three sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meet in Triveni Sangam. Also, a drop of nectar fell in Prayagraj during the Samudra Manthan, so it is also a Maha Kumbh Kshetra. There is also a Temple in Prayagraj, which is known as Nageshwar Nath Temple. During the Samudra Manthan, the king of snakes, Nagvasuki, was used as a rope to churn the ocean. After the Samudra Manthan, Nagvasuki rested here in Prayagraj. Therefore, Offerings to Nagvasuki and Shivji holds special significance in this Temple during Maha Kumbh. It is believed that the king of snakes, Nagvasuki, had pleased Shiva by worshiping him in this temple to fulfill all his wishes. By participating in the offerings here, one receives the blessings of Shiva and Nagavasuki and all the troubles of life are removed.
