64 Yogini temple, located in Odisha, is the most famous, mystical and ancient temple in India. It is believed that this Temple was built by Queen Hiradevi of the Bhaumakar dynasty in the ninth century. In this Temple, the idols of 64 Yoginis who are said to be the incarnations of Maa Durga have been established according to Vedic Rituals. It is believed that Goddess Durga took the form of 64 Demi-Goddesses with different powers to defeat a Demon. After the fight, 64 Goddesses asked Maa Durga to establish them in the form of a Temple here so that they can fulfil wishes of their Devotees.
