Kameshwar Dham is a very ancient Siddha Peetha temple. It is a sacred Dham where not only Lord Shiva resides, but also the power of Kamdev is present. It is said that this is the same place where Mahadev Shiva had burnt Kamadeva to ashes. The half burnt mango tree still exists here from where Kamadeva had shot the flower arrow at Mahadev Shiva. However, after Kamdev was burnt to ashes, due to worship and prayers of Rati, Lord Shiva resided here in the form of Kameshwar Mahadev and dedicated this place for worshipping Kamdev for Stronger Relationships.
