Badrinath is one of the 4 Dham in India. Badrinath Dham, a small town between two mountain ranges, also known as Narayan ranges, is situated on the banks of Alaknanda River. This place was covered with berry trees forests in ancient times, that is why this place got its name Badrinath. The construction and establishment of the Temple at this place was carried out by Adi Guru Shankaracharya. According to the scriptures, Shri Vishnu avatar Nar and Narayan underwent severe penance at this place. It is still believed that Shri Vishnu resides with Maa Lakshmi here. Therefore, Donating Brahman Bhojan and Offering Gau Seva in Badrinath Dham on Ekadashi pleases Shri Lakshmi Narayan.
